They need not be the same.

Check the docs/INSTALL file.  There is very little needed
on the client.  And it was probably installed with the
client parts also.  I think the only significant thing
from the server install is a couple of entries in
inet/xinet.conf.  Only one seems to be required for the
client.  Delete the server specific entries.

Don't recall the client needing the config files.  Corrections??
I don't seem to have a client about at the moment :((

You mention linux.  If installed from an rpm, that is an rpm
issue, not amanda.  Follow those procedures.  If built from
sources, there is an "uninstall" target in the makefile.

But I think your idea is correct if you add to it the network
config stuff (inet.conf and services files) and the crontab
stuff and any password/group file stuff, and any /etc/aman...
files like amandates.  Any others?

If the install locations are the same and the user id are the
same, I would.
