I'm using:

Sun L20 (re-badged HP 2/20) with Ultrium LTO
SPARC Solaris 8
mtx 1.2.16rel with sgen(7D) driver per contrib/config_sgen_solaris.sh
Amanda 2.4.2p2 with chg-zd-mtx

Works perfectly, I had to make a one-line change in chg-zd-mtx. Amanda
2.4.3 is recommended; chg-zd-mtx got a lot of work done on it.

Make sure the changer firmware is up-to-date. I've talked to another
L20 user who was having mtx problems, but they had older firmware
(Anne, did the firmware download fix your problem?). FWIW, I've got:

orion:/home/jayl 1> mtx -f /dev/scsi/changer/c4t4d0 inquiry
Product Type: Medium Changer
Vendor ID: 'HP '
Product ID: 'C7200 '
Revision: '133S'
Attached Changer: No

The LTO drives are great. I routinely get 15-20MB/s taper rates (HW
compression on).
