Problem with DISK-type pools is that they're random-access, so one doesn't
know where data were written between the time of the last DB backup and the
disaster.

FILE-type pools are log-structured (written from beginning to
end, and then deleted/reclaimed) so you only have the potential of data
loss, not corruption.
