Dear all,

yes, it looks like a scsi lock.

I've been waiting a bit longer and suddenly the drive switched it's state and i could run an audit ?!

so "wait and see" seems to be the solution.

thansk & best regards,

Bjørn

for the libclient the tape is not mounted
for the library the drive is empty

I tried to do an library audit, this fails immediatly

then i restartet first the library manager instance later the whole

starting a library audit then, took much longer, I canceled this

"dismount vol" does not work either
sounds like a stuck SCSI reservation on the drive.
Who's the "owner" of the drive right now? (run a "select drive_name,drive_state,allocated_to from drives" on the library manager). If it's the library client, restart the physical machine the library client runs on. If that doesn't help, try the "Remove IT Nexus" in the i6k => Tools => Drives. I've never run that command, but an FE suggested that as a possible solution some time ago, so, use at your own risk ;)

a little bit off-topic: an IBM 3584 can do an internal inventory run,
does anyone know something similar for the i6k?
Mhh, if it's not configured during power on (i6k => Setup => Physical Library => Automatic Inventory), i6k => Operations => Inventory should do the trick? Whole library has to be offline.
