You can use client option sets (defined on the server, see DEFINE 
CLOPTSET, DEFINE CLIENTOPT, and UPDATE NODE CLOPTSET=nnn server admin 
commands) to control much of this behavior.

For example, you could define a server-side client option set that 
includes something like:

   exclude *:\...\*.mp3
   exclude *:\...\*.wav
   exclude *:\...\*.avi
   exclude *:\...\*.jpg

etc.
