I checked /etc/security/limits and fsize was set to -1(ulimited) for all
users and ulimit -a output confirms that. What else?

oracle 3-> ulimit -a

file(blocks)         unlimited
data(kbytes)         unlimited
stack(kbytes)        2097152
memory(kbytes)       unlimited
coredump(blocks)     2097151
nofiles(descriptors) 4096

oracle 4-> su -
root's Password:
# ulimit -a
time(seconds)        unlimited
file(blocks)         unlimited
data(kbytes)         131072
stack(kbytes)        32768
memory(kbytes)       32768
coredump(blocks)     2097151
nofiles(descriptors) 2000

In AIX 5.x I think the file is in /etc/security/limits
