What do you mean they have expired just like your incrementals?
Do you mean they have been deleted off the TSM Server completely?

1. Is the nodename you are using for your monthly backups,
   "DOMSERV.MONTHLY" different than the nodename you use for your
   daily backups?
2. Are you sure the "DOMSERV.MONTHLY" node is registered
   to the correct policy domain?
3. How do you know these backups have "expired"?

If they are expiring, you can check to see what management
class the backups have been assigned to with the following
TSM Server command:

   select * from backups where node_name='DOMSERV.MONTHLY'
