I have successfully tested both ways also.
I did find that when I did the "fresh" install of TSM 3.7.3 and restored the
database from 3.1 I
had to use the commit=yes option when restoring the DB. I've never had to do
that before but
it was the only catch. Oh, and of course you will have to issue the upgrade
DB command to get the
3.1 DB to 3.7 level.
