I had to turn client compression of because of tape drive compression. We
found that compressing the data on the client and letting the tape drive
compress data actually made the backups and especially space reclamation's
take an inordinate amount of time. Leaving the compression on the tape
drives and off on the client speeded up everything. Also I think there is a
problem with the Novell client and compression. I don't know if they fixed
it in the latest ptf or not...
