My experience is that upper/lower case is important. I've never used the
EXCLUDE.DIR  parameter.

        You may want to try:

        exclude.dir c:\SP5atempt

        The argument to exclude.dir is a directory.  I don't think the \...\
        contstruct is compatible nor does it make sense with exclude.dir.
Why
        it would work with Users and not SP5atempt I don't know (I am
assuming
        as much from your post).
