As Chris wrote in the previous note, you must perform two steps:
1. Backup of the running SQL Server via the ADSMConnnect Agent (you will have
all DBs)
2. Backup of the entire NT system, SQL programs etc., but excluding (!!) the
SQL DBs
For a disaster you must than restore first the NT system (1) and afterwards the
DBs of the SQL Server (2).
This procedure is described in the IBM redbook SG24-2231-00
(also available as a Redpiece on the Web at: http://www.redbooks.ibm.com)

If I used this method would I be able to do a 'bare metal restore' from
these backups ?
From my tests I cannot backup the SQL Devices unless I stop the SQL server
prior to the ADSM job
