     All,
Maybe someone with the appropriate background can help resolve a
problem that our organization is experiencing. Our group is
responsible for backup software, and a separate group is responsible
for database software. Our organization (which includes both groups)
is currently in the process of developing and bringing up several
major oracle based applications. The database group is reluctant to
allow the use of products such as SQL-Backtrack with ADSM, claiming
that recoveries from SQL-Backtrack based backups pose a serious
database integrity threat. Our backup group is very concerned that
the planned large oracle database backups will not complete in the
backup window time, and have been counting on a product such as
     SQL-Backtrack to make that possible.
        - Is the database group's concern a valid one?
        - Where can I find out what considerations are important in setting
up the recovery procedures in an ADSM/SQL-Backtrack environment?
        - Any other comments/advice?

     TIA,
     Jim
