tape management

here is a little cause for concern:
Volume Name: DLT007
Storage Pool Name: DLTPOOL
Device Class Name: DLTTAPE
Estimated Capacity (MB): 15,360.0
%Util: 19.2
Volume Status: Filling
Access: Read/Write
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Pct. Reclaimable Space: 22.4
Scratch Volume?: No
In Error State?: No
Number of Writable Sides: 1
Number of Times Mounted: 47
Write Pass Number: 1
Approx. Date Last Written: 09/05/96 07:13:17
Approx. Date Last Read: 09/05/96 14:43:56
Date Became Pending:
Number of Write Errors: 0
Number of Read Errors: 280
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Volume Location:
Now you would think that after that many read errors that ADSM might be a
little concerned and place the tape in READONLY so that no more data would
be written on bad media. By the way, this is a new DLT tape on a drive less
than a month old. We have had about 15 or so other tapes go bad (or we
think they are bad). So much for DLT reliability...
