Yes, you can use ADSM with DB2/2 as well.  DB2/2 does not yet use the
ADSM api.  The options we used and are documenting in the redbook are:
 offline backup using DB2/2's backup utility and then using ADSM to
    backup the resultant image file
offline backup using DB2/2's user exit program integrated with ADSM
offline backup of the database files directly with ADSM

With the new V1.2 of DB2/2, there is a quiesce option for the backup
utility so users can still stay connected to the server while doing
the backup.  Version 2.0 will provide an api interface to ADSM, and
online backup, as well as tablespace level backup.
