Sure. Make a backup copy and then edit the snmpCol.conf file with your favorite editor. There should be comments at the top of the file to help.
When you get finished try opening it with xnmcollect and see whether it looks and behaves the way you expect. If so, then you can try it in with snmpCollect. He should write any errors he finds to the snmpCol.trace and he'll refuse to load the file at all if there is something really wrong with it.

NV 7.1.5 on AIX 5.2
Is there a way to edit the SNMP Configuration directly for the purpose of adding or removing large numbers of entries? My intention is to remove the many individual node entries and replace with smartsets. Thank you
