Per previous posts and documentation,  Netview will use ICMP only to poll NON-SNMP nodes for status. However, will it still try to perform a configuration check (which is done via SNMP) per snmp.conf's time intervals for "Configuration Polling Intervals".

I will probably be faced with adding several nodes to be monitored that will not support SNMP (security reasons). My concern/question is,  would these non-SNMP nodes cause netmon to slow down waiting on SNMP to time out when it is restarted and it performs timed configuration checks. If I understand correctly, netmon will still check nodes for SNMP when it is restarted and during Configuration polling intervals.

Could someone please advise.

Thanks,
