What platform are you running on. There is a known problem
with the way the Linux reports Java threads(each as its own
process). When actually there are only a few java processes
running with alot of threads.

Hi all,

I have one question in regards to the jetty webserver. It starts many java processes which are using a lot of memory. I do not know the principles behind, but are all these processes necessary?
They all seem to be the same:

root 15435 15426 0 08:08 ? 00:00:00 /usr/OV/jre/bin/exe/java -Xmx64m -Djavax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory=org.apache.xalan.processor.TransformerFactoryImpl -Dnetview.home=/usr/OV -Djetty.home=/usr/OV/www -Djetty.log=/usr/OV/www/logs -cp /usr/OV/www/classes:/usr/OV/www/lib/ibmjsse.jar:/usr/OV/www/lib/javax.servlet.jar:/usr/OV/www/lib/org.mortbay.jetty.jar:/usr/OV/www/lib/com.microstar.xml.jar:/usr/OV/www/lib/org.apache.jasper.jar:/usr/OV/www/lib/com.tivoli.netview.jar:/usr/OV/jars/xml.jar:/usr/OV/jars/log4j.jar:/usr/OV/jars/jdom.jar org.mortbay.jetty.Server /usr/OV/www/conf/jetty.xml

Is there a config file where I can reduce the number?

Thanks for your help,

        Wolfgang
