This is normal behavior.

Read-Only maps do not get new objects placed on them, only the colors of existing objects change.  Their map  locations do not.  That's what "read-only" means when it comes to maps. They only get new objects when you manually refresh them.

Smartset contents therefore, being dynamic, are never updated on a read-only map automatically.
This smartset you have created is no different than any other, except that the criteria are more dynamic than other attributes.  But the fact remains that  you must be on the read-write map, and your web client be attached to the read-write map, or you will not see changes automatically.  If your web-clients are attached to a read-only map, then you must refresh that map for the changes to propagate.

[nv-l] Smartset does not refresh on Read only Map

Hi Folks,
I have created a smartset to display Nodes with "IP Status "that are "Critical" or "Unreachable" or "Marginal".
upon  status change of one of these nodes, it should disappear from the smartset ..... but to my big surprise, only the smarset on the Read-Write Map (Unix Client and web Console) is updated ... but the ones on the Read-Only Maps  (Unix Client and web Console) are not.

P.S. I have about 4 Read-Only Unix client (non root Unix login) running and one Read-Write Unix Client (root login).

Thank You,
Meyos
