Actually, there is a limit without applying a couple of e-fixes on
AIX...
I had problems with NetView managing a router with 830
interfaces.
NetView: 7.1.3
AIX:
5.1-03
One
e-fix addresses a NetView database hang while discovering all the
interfaces.
The
second addresses all system memory being eaten up when you try to
Manage/Unmanage a router with 830 interfaces.

Hi
List,
I am trying to
determine the maximum number of interfaces per a router that Netview can
discover and manage. I found an article on the IBM support site that
states that Netview on NT and 2000 support a maximum of 256 interfaces per
router.
Is this the same for
Unix/Linux ? I have a customer that wants to install NetView 7.1.4 on Redhat
Advanced Server 2.1 and will be managing a Cisco 7200 series router with 400
interfaces. Has anyone run into problems managing
routers with large number of interfaces
?
Thank You
