One other question:

Will these rules work with externally generated traps (ie, Cisco Devices), or do they have to be nv6000 generated events?

Pardon my newbie questions ;-)

Thanks

John:

I've looked at those, but maybe you can answer a question for me? :-)

When configuring the "Pass On Match" Node via the Rules Editor,  I am unclear as what the Attribute Comparisons Selections are that are Numeric characters only.  Are they arguments associated with a given trap?

Thanks

Have you checked out the rulesets that comes with NetView?  If you're
on unix
       find  /usr/OV -name "*.rs"

and open em with /usr/OV/bin/nvrsEdit.  The netview administrator's
guide goes through some of the example rulsets if memory serves.
