This is an all-or-nothing option, always been there, ever since we were
that other product. It can be found under Edit...Modify/Describe...Map.
You pick how the interfaces are to be labeled, then ok, then ok. They
all magically change. Different choices are better for different
environments.

Subject: [NV-L] Changing Interface symbol labels

Hi All,

I tried searching through the archives for this one but could not find
anything. As you know, Netview displays labels of interfaces with their IP
Address. Apparently, someone told me that another network management tool
(which will remain nameless...:) ) dislays the interfaces with their actual
ifDescr.

This sounds like a very useful thing to do and aside from going to every
interface and renaming the label, is there a way to do it en masse? I
tried
looking at the the object printout and I dont think that the label name is
stored there. Any pointers on how to do this? Has anyone else been able to
do this?

Thanks for any input....
