Did you check and see if :
Job for serverA runs, and finishes
Then
Starts kicking off new jobs that fail with
a 196 (while the window is still open) then stop once the window closes?

Subject: [Veritas-bu] 6.5.2 to
6.5.3 post install tape drive issues
I have recently upgraded from 6.5.2 to
6.5.3 and am having some issues following the install.
My environment is: 1 master server
at 6.5.3, 1 media server at 6.5.3, 3 media
servers at 6.5.2. 2 libraries: 1 SAN attached DELL Power Vault 136T with
4 tape drives, and 1 StorageTek L20 with 2 drives SCSI attached to the master
server.
Since the upgrade of the master I have
been experiencing excessive 196 errors, which I rarely have seen prior to the
upgrade. Investigation finds that in I go to the activity monitor
(refresh all) and see all the drives showing busy in the topology map. In
the active jobs panel I only see 2 of the 6 drive writing, with many jobs
queued. If I go to device monitor I see that all drives show busy, but
only 3 of them are ready. 1 on the SCSI attached, 2 on the SAN attached
libraries. These results vary some ie: actual drives writing/actual
drives ready (I hope that makes sense) A few days ago I used NBEMMCMD
-deletealldevices -allrecords, hoping that rediscovering the devices would
clear this up, same results.
If I check in robtest I see that only 3
of the drives have media in them, which does not reflect how many drives are
writing. I’ve been watching this over several days to make sure it
wasn’t my imagination….
Anyone else experienced this one?
Best Regards
Chris B.
