Here's how we did it...
We identified a critical subset of our servers for
audit purposes - we don't test all servers for backup/restore audits. I
have a special backup policy that backs up a dummy file on each critical
audit server. I have a script on each audit server that restore this
test file once a month or so.
If it works - life is good.
If it doesn't, it sends me a mail for correction of the
problem.
Pretty straight forward.

Hi
All;
I am the
backup adiminisrator for a huge envoirement we have 38 master/media/SAN
media server and 625 clients in our backup envoirement.
In the report of audit document
Backup process
is not audited nor tested regularly. Many backups may not perform when business
requires it. A regular retrieve tests should be done once every six
months.
How we can do reqular retireve test of our backups? What is the best practice for reqular retrieve tests?
Thanks
