Yes
– with 6.x, IIRC, you can share a drive between NDMP and non-NDMP. I think
it started with 6.0, but I’m not sure. It’s there in 6.5 for
certain.

With 5.x, tape drives are NDMP or not - I'm pretty sure
they can't be both.
