Every system I backup has multiple NIC's. So I'll hold at 5.1 MP4 until I hear 
more.

Does anyone use multiple NICs who has not had this issue with MP4? I'd
have though multiple NICs are pretty common these days.
How did the alias fix the issue?

We ran into this when we did the MP4beta upgrade.  It was fixed with an
emm alias.  Why we needed I still don't know.  The alias was the right
answer (perhaps it shouldn't have worked earlier), but it was odd that
it was suddenly required.
