[My apologies if this comes through the list twice. The first time I
sent it, I received a 'held for moderation' because I wasn't sending it
from the address I was subscribed to the list from.]

Greetings,

I've inherited a NetBackup 4.5FP6 setup running on Solaris 8 (yes, I
know I need to upgrade but not right now please!) and have been trying
to learn my way around during a crisis. Last week we had a major email
server failure and now I need to do a restore of the email data from
that server to a new server.

I've gotten the TIR restore to work but the mail software uses hard
links when a single message is sent to multiple people. This is
causing some of the files to fail to be restored. Which, as I
understand the docs, is the expected situation.

Anyway, I do need to try and get those files not restored back. I was
thinking of writing a script that would munge things around based on the
output of the restore log. But, the restore log doesn't provide a
complete listing of all the files it's skipping. Instead, I find this
in the logs:

(bunch of similar lines omitted)...
13:52:33 (158094.xxx) /var/spool/cyrus3/E/user/w1038317/Daemons/279.
is not in the true image list. Skipping.
13:52:33 (158094.xxx) /var/spool/cyrus3/E/user/w1038317/Daemons/28.
is not in the true image list. Skipping.
13:52:33 (158094.xxx) Suspending the display of additional messages for
files that are not in the true image list.

I'd really like to get a complete listing of what it's not going to
restore due to TIR. Is there anyway to get the restore to do that, or
to get the TIR listing outside of the restore by a command?

Has anyone else faced this situation and come up with a good solution
for how to deal with it? All solutions appreciated!
