I'm not familiar with the scan command. I use sgscan. Anyway I just
did the above process yesterday, for a new STK SL500 with LTO3 drives.
Then I went into the windows admin console and ran the wizard to
configure storage devices. It works great for the new devices but not
the existing 8 SDLT drives that had already been defined. I ended up
deleting all the tape drives and re-running the configure storage
devices wizard to redefine everything. I finished 12 minutes before my
backup window started. I know there's got to be an easier way, but at
least everything is working now.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Scan device path help

Hello,
=20
I have a V880 running Solaris 8 which is setup as a media server to back
itself up (SSO). From the OS I can see the 12 drive paths to my tape
devices, but when I run the scan command all I see it 8. How can I make
the Netbackup application see all 12 drives (which it use to see until
today) without performing a reboot of the system? My other media
servers see all twelve drives.
