I don't think User Backups schedules allow incrementals so we use
Control-M from the Master to kick off fulls/incrementals. A downside is
that if the client is unavailable the job will kick off from the master
and you'll see a jobid queued out there waiting to go and it won't run
OK once the client comes back up (need to restart the job).
=20
You need to shut down the window for the schedule so the Veritas
scheduler doesn't try to run it as well.

We have an account that uses Control M to schedule all unix backups.
Works pretty good, gives much better control over pre and post scripts.
=20
You basically just setup your policies to use User Backup schedule
types. Then when Control M triggers the script with the bpbackup
command, the backup runs against that policy. The include list is
handled in the bpbackup command you run from the client.
=20
There are also other ways to do it too, like setup Control M to kick off
the jobs on the master. Not sure when this would be good to use, but it
could be done.
=20
Let me know if you have more specific questions.
=20
Thanks,

Just curious if anyone out there is using Control-M from BMC in
conjunction with NetBackup. Wondering how it works with scheduling or
reporting.
        =20
        Thanks in advance.
