Sounds like your retention was set to less than 3 Months?
A good just in case thing to do is to have your catalog backup alternate
Between disk to tape, then at least once a week backup the Directory /
catalog that you have specified for the disk path of the catalog backup -
Put this on like one of your veritas tapes and hold them for as long as
You need. Although you could not do a bprecover from this backup -
You can restore that catalog directory to another area - then run a
bprecover
On a test box - hook up a tape drive or 2 and recover Veritas the way it
Was at that time.

The requested media was not found.....

I know what tapes the data should be on but I may not have the time to
import all 13 tapes, and in the future for restores for other servers I
do not want to have to do an import for every restore older then 3
months.

If you have printouts of the backups then perhaps you have media ID's?
If so
then can you run the bpmedialist command against the media ID?

In the images directory the server is only listed once and none of the
files
are older then the 7th. I have printouts of the backups so I know they
ran
and were successful.

Thanks

Check the image folder that contains the client listing. First check
that
there isn't a difference in the client's name. Perhaps the use of fully
qualified domain names has created two separate client folders. Secondly
check the dates on the files to see if any are older than Nov 7th.

I am trying to do a restore of a client. When I go to select the files
no
backups are listed in the catalog older then Nov 7th. I have pulled up
several clients and they all have a similar end date. Could the catalog
have
been archived? How do I go about restoring the old portions of the
catalog
without damaging the current data? I am on Win 2k with NBU 4.5 fp7a.
