We have many DLT and LTO silo's. We are able to move tapes from one DLT
silo to another DLT silo by removing the barcode from the tape and
degaussing it. This causes NetBackup to see the tape without an internal
header therefore it shows up as a new tape. Our problem is with LTO.
Since you can not degauss a LTO tape without rendering it useless, how
can you relabel a tape header once you put it in another LTO silo? We
like to keep each silo with it's own prefix, so all NAxxxx tapes are in
one silo and all NBxxxx tapes in another.=20

With NBU 5.0 I think I have found a way by using the label option when
you right click on a tape. You can highlight a bunch of tapes, right
click and select label to rewrite the header. My problem is I really
need a way to do this on NBU 3.4.1. As best as I can tell, I could
somehow script it using bplabel.exe, but I would have to somehow mount
and dismount each tape using some other means first before sending the
bplabel.exe command. Does anyone have a better way? Is there a way to
degauss a LTO tape and still use it again with a new internal header?
