NB 3.4 and 3.4.1 officially will go out of support on 29 April 2004. It'll
then be on "limited" support with no code changes but they will respond to
severity 1 & 2 until next April.

As to what works with what - I seem to recall a Veritas rep stating that
they test with the previous 2 versions only and then only with latest
service packs. eg 5.0 can work with 4.5 and 3.4. The master has to be at
the highest version and the client cannot be at a higher release level than
the media server.

However, trying to convince Veritas support of this is not easy as they
will nearly always blame the difference in versions.

Cheers
Ed

Hey, thanks everyone. In case anyone misunderstood, I was looking for
what older versions of the netbackup client are officially supported
with a particular version of the netbackup server.

I thought I had looked at most of the documentation, but Jim Horalek
managed to convince me that the answer really is in the release notes
(on page 38 for 4.5). And that only the 3.4 client is actually
mentioned, not any further back.

If the OS compatibility PDF (251712) has that information in it, I still
don't see it, but I'm ready to believe it's there since I didn't see it
in the release notes by myself either!

Thanks again!
