I've seen enough posts about backing up clients through a firewall to
know that it's not something I really want to do. Has anyone any
experience with a master server on an internal network and a media
server on the other side of a firewall, though ? We are looking to
replace a Backup Exec server on the DMZ with a Netbackup server, and
control it with our Master NBU server that is internal. 
Env now is:
NBU 4.5 master w/ Vault, Ndmp.
Stek 9740 w/ 8 DLT7000 drives
Adic Scalar 100 w/ 4 drives being controlled by:
Win2000 media server, NBU 4.5 
And 2 other drives connected to a Netapp filer. 
Will be adding another Win2K media server to control 2 of the LTO
drives. 

What I would plan on doing is another Win2k media server on the DMZ
with another Adic library attached to it. What I see as the problem is
the control information going from the master to the media server. 
Any help will be appreciated.
