Folks,
A quick post on this since I couldn't find an answer when I was
looking.

We got the "can't obtain exclusive enqueue for blah" error and a
status 5 when restoring an Oracle datafile. =20
=20
The problem was that the datafile, though moved out of the way in
the filesystem, also needed to be offlined in the database ; i.e.:
connect to the database with sqlplus, and alter the datafile offline.
