Peter,

That sounds GREAT. If I at least had connectivity to see the data, I am
sure I could get a database to import it as read only etc..

Do you know offhand, if we have to pay seperately for this NetBackup
Admin Console ? We currently are running Netbackup Datacenter. Should
Netbackup Admin Console have been included ? ? Everyone always talks
about NAC, and I have never even seen it... :(

By the way, I looked at NBUX and it looks great ! Especially for
reporting.

Paul:

Here's another option to consider:

If your database is on a Windows box already ( assuming it is NT or W2K
),
you can install
a NetBackup Admin Console on the box and, by designating it as a server
in
the bp.conf file
on the NetBackup server, have full access to the NetBackup data via the

command line.

NBUX is tested and works well natively on Windows NT and 2000 while
ODBC
supported is
included with ActiveState Perl.

I don't have any scripts written for populating a database with
NetBackup
data, but that's
really the easy part.... define your schema, read the data, and use SQL

insert and update
statements. You then have a billing database and application that are

independent of the
NetBackup server except for data population.
