You're right - it should work this way. I'd check the pool names to see if
you're consistent on spelling, etc. throughout. Did you update the robot
inventory so it knows about those new tapes?

You can query for scratchtapes within the library this way:
vmquery -w -pn ScratchPool | awk '$9!="-" {print $1}'

You can verify your scratch name pool with this:
vmpool -listscratch

Subject: [Veritas-bu] scratch pool

Hi,

[Solaris 8/Netbackup 3.4.1/StorEdge L20]

I have an interesting problem. In my vm.conf file, I have added SCRATCH_POOL
= ScratchPool. I restarted netbackup and it created the pool for me. Great!

I then created a barcode rule <DEFAULT> to point to the ScratchPool. I then
populated the tape library with tapes. These now appear in the scratch pool.

In my test class, I have the pool to use 'Application' - am I right in
presuming if it cannot find tapes to use that are in the library and
application pool, it will steal them from ScratchPool?

If this is the case, can anyone tell me why it is not working? It comes back
with Error 96 - no media available, but there is!!

Thanks,

Tim.
