Any log data? Are these tapes being recycled and perhaps have existing
data on them? If so, have you told NBU to overwrite the data format?

=20

The media logs should be a tremendous help in cases like these.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] scratch pool

=20

Hi,

=20

[Solaris 8/Netbackup 3.4.1/StorEdge L20]

=20

I have an interesting problem. In my vm.conf file, I have added
SCRATCH_POOL =3D ScratchPool. I restarted netbackup and it created the
pool for me. Great!

=20

I then created a barcode rule <DEFAULT> to point to the ScratchPool. I
then populated the tape library with tapes. These now appear in the
scratch pool.

=20

In my test class, I have the pool to use 'Application' - am I right in
presuming if it cannot find tapes to use that are in the library and
application pool, it will steal them from ScratchPool?

If this is the case, can anyone tell me why it is not working? It comes
back with Error 96 - no media available, but there is!!

=20

Thanks,

=20

Tim.
