Hallo Simon,
First you must expirate the volume
bpexpdate -d xxx -ev (mediaid)
where: -d <mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss | 0 | infinity>
And if you want to deassign the media, the command is:
vmquery -deassignbyid <media_id> <pool_number> <status>
