We've recovered enough boxes with IDR that even our most
skeptical NT admin's praise the ground we walk on.
or something along those lines. :)

IDR works great, we've been 100% successful.

I am trying to do a bare metal restore on an NT box.  Anyone out there
do this before?  If so, what procedures did you follow?  Also, anyone
using IDR?  Is it true that Veritas wants to kill this feature?  If not,
when would you use IDR as opposed to doing a "normal" restore?
