What about on NT. Can you do this without giving the users administrative
access to the server. Say can you have them with limited access to the
server, but give them full control over NBU?

Thanks,
Rick

If you are running on unix (root access) then you have at least 2 options.
NB has some oper utilities that provide limited access (I have not used this
so cannot elaborate). You can also create a group for NB admins, put the
appropriate people in the group, change the group ownership on the NB
programs as stated in the manual. Then anyone in the group has access (I
have done this but depending on you organization it may be to open as well).
If this is still not granular enough you could use something like sudo or
gensuid.

Hi guys,

I was wondering if there is a possibility to give users administrative
access on NetBackup backup servers. Currently, we have to give out root
access and we don't like that one bit.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Wout.
