Subject: [Veritas-bu] Doing duplicates quicker?
We make duplicates of our tapes to go off-site. Currently, we have cron
kick off 2 duplicate scripts early in the morning every day. The
default mode that NBU gives you to do duplicates does them serially
using a couple drives at a time, our way gets us using more drives.
However, we have 10 drives and would like to use more of them during the
early morning/morning/afternoon when backups aren't running. Sometimes
we have to miss duplicating a range of dates to 'catch up' from not
having all our duplicates finish.
We are currently running 3.1.1 and will upgrade to 3.4 shortly, is there
a built-in way to do more than one duplication job at a time? Or, is
there a script/some other practice out there to get around this problem
of duplicating a lot of data quickly?
Regards,
RCA
