That would be great for backup windows.

The other big thing we watch for is changed files.  For some clients (databases 
that are SUPPOSED to be down) if a file changes size during the backup, that 
means that the backup is no good.  NW, however, keys this as a warning.  I'd 
like to key this as an error - for some clients and for specific files or 
directory trees on those clients.

Right, you have backup quality control, backup window monitor and I am writing 
a sub to define on a client/saveset based a max backup duration. Backups taking 
longer than fixed will be highlighted.
