Exchange backup with NMM can be a real pain. But it usually works fine once you
get all the kinks straightened out.

So, if the job starts at 8 PM, will it die at 10 PM that same day? That is, 2
hrs later?

The fact that it happens at that exact time would have me looking for scheduled
jobs or something similar that might affect the backups.

How do you do the backups(to tape or disk or..), and at what speed?

We are using Networker 8.0 server on Solaris 10 and we are having the worst
issues trying to back up Exchange 2010. I have an open case with EMC and they
are at a loss. I am just curious if anyone on this thread used Legato to back
up Exchange 2010 and if you are having any issues with it. Our issue seems to
stem from a timeout issue but we have set the TCP settings that EMC has
recommended but it has not helped. It is like the job makes the snapshot and
then starts to back it up and then just times out during the process and it is
always at 10:00 pm at night. It doesn't matter when the job started, before
10:00 pm or after it will bomb by 10:00 pm the next day. Thanks for your time
and I hope everyone has a wonderful day.
