I was just added a new client last week and now that I'm seeing daily errors, I've finally been
told that it is a Windows 2008 server with WSUS (MS SQL 2005) installed.
The daily errors are:
* med104.med.uvm.edu:VSS SYSTEM SERVICES:\ savegrp: suppressed 14 lines of
output.
* med104.med.uvm.edu:VSS SYSTEM SERVICES:\ Windows Internal Database - Error saving file path
d:\WSUS\\UpdateServicesDbFiles\SUSDB.mdf that is associated with Shadow Copy path
\\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy74\WSUS\\UpdateServicesDbFiles\SUSDB.mdf. The
filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
* med104.med.uvm.edu:VSS SYSTEM SERVICES:\
* med104.med.uvm.edu:VSS SYSTEM SERVICES:\ Windows Internal Database - ERROR: Failed to save
FileGroup files, writer = SqlServerWriter
* med104.med.uvm.edu:VSS SYSTEM SERVICES:\ Windows Internal Database - Error saving writer
Windows Internal Database
* med104.med.uvm.edu:VSS SYSTEM SERVICES:\ Windows Internal Database - ERROR: Aborting backup
of saveset VSS SYSTEM SERVICES: because of the error with writer Windows Internal Database.
* med104.med.uvm.edu:VSS SYSTEM SERVICES:\ Windows Internal Database - Error
saving
* med104.med.uvm.edu:VSS SYSTEM SERVICES:\ 7162:save: save of VSS SYSTEM SERVICES:\ to
ozzie.uvm.edu failed
Has anyone seen this? Is this an instance of needing to get the NMM for NW 7.4 installed on
the client? As we had purchased three VSS licenses back in the NW 7.2 days, I think I've got
three free uses of NMM coming to me.
Server: Linux RHEL5, 64-bit, NW 7.4.4.6
Client: Windows 2008, unknown 64/32 bit, NW 7.4.3
Thanks,
