How about iptables firewall on the linux server?  Ie the one that's on by
default in most distros...  maybe its blocking the ndmp connections from the
netapp to the networker server (connection is not just outbound from
networker server)...

Debugging on netapp filer is turned on with:    ndmpd debug 50

You need to use the cmdline interface to the filer to see the messages. If
you can get yourself a login to http://now.netapp.com I recall there are
whitepapers on configuring networker to do ndmp.

Be advised that networker 7.2 ndmp is very limited in abilities compared to
7.3+ and anyway 7.2 is not officially supported by EMC either which may
explain why you're not getting very good help from them.
