My experience is that up to the 7.3 release train, it scaled pretty well. 
However, we have seen load increases and other scalability problems with 
release 7.3, mostly related to nsrjobd and its database. So in essence, 
7.2 scales better than 7.3 in this sense. These problems might have been 
fixed recently, but I doubt it. :)

On the other hand, commvault recommends no more than 900 clients for one 
commserve, but we run over 1100 without any problems so far. So in my 
experience, commvault scales just as well as networker.
