Hello
Not sure if i understand the question, which backup method are you using,
Networker, Networker with Avamar, VM Guest based ?
Esx Ranger ?
If Networker is used directly on the vm guest, there is not limitation on
dynamic vs basic, you will be able to recover the files.
I don't think ESX ranger cares either, he will only see C or D ( logical)
partitions, does not matter how they are formatted.

Subject
Backup / Restore of files on dynamic disk of VMWare host?
Hi,
Has anyone been able to backup and restore files that reside on a VMWare
host which has dynamic disks? If so, could you please advise me on which
product you used to get this working.
Thanks in advance.
Allan
