That's not weird - that is exactly what I would expect. The media database now has a different view of your tapes - one that no longer corresponds to their actual contents.

It's when these errors come up and you HAVEN'T done an mmrecov that I would say it is weird.

If your retention is 2 months I don't see why you would have wanted to do an mmrecov from more than 2 months ago. The media database from two months ago won't contain anything relevant to your current backups. It would have been much more productive (and more likely to work) to just scrub your media database and start from scratch. In this case I would save as comprehensive a report of your current media DB, and quarantine the existing tapes until they expire. You would need to run scanner to recover any existing backups, but I guess you still would now anyway.
