You have already had two suggestions to go via an intermediate version.I disagree with these suggestions. I see no need to go through thisprocess twice and potentially encounter bugs in an old version whichhave already been fixed.

The upgrade from 6.x to 7.x does NOT involve an index conversion, just amedia database conversion, which is trivial in terms of time taken. Itis nothing to worry about but it is non-reversible.

You are sensible not to upgrade the hardware at the same time as thesoftware.
