Yes. What's your hardware environment like for your NetWorker server? Did you
do any investigation work such as check /var/adm/messages and
/nsr/logs/daemon.log at times when you've issued "nsrjb -w" commands? What
else is running when this happens? Is the slowness consistent? I suspect not?
Is the amount of data you are backing up now appreciably more than before
Christmas?
I did check the logs. There was nothing unusual in there, regarding
retries or failed access. My nsrjb recycle commands work fine.
Tapes mount/dismount OK. The slowness is fairly consistent.
I have run nsrjb -w both when the system is busy and when it is not.
I have checked that nsrjb -w is the only nsrjb instance running at
a particular time. There were backups running but the selected
vols to withdraw were not in use and could mounted by the tape drive.
The data is not appreciably greater than
before Christmas. If anything it's less, because no was using the
system over the the break!
CAP port appears to be empty (according to jbscan.ksh) and
sjidtag reads likewise.
My last check is to go and do a physical inspection of the L700,
but it is remote and I can't do it till tomorrow.
nsrjb -IE is also slow but eventually returns.
nsrjb -w gets as far as this before it seems to go to sleep:
lom:tmp 196# nsrjb -w -vvvvv 000052

And then it never completes....
Thanks!
