I have migrated indexes by just copying them between Alpha -> Linux and
Windows -> Linux.
Sun -> i386 didn't work back than and "shouldn't" work.
The reason being that you need to have the same byteordering source <-> dest.
The indexes are not saved in XDR (byte ordering independent) format when
the media database is.
